A former Alabama football player and 2026 NFL Draft pick had a banner day in Week 6 action.
Former Crimson Tide receiver Germie Bernard stretched across the end zone for a 6-yard touchdown catch from Aaron Rodgers, the eventual game-winning score in the Pittsburgh Steelers' 26-19 overtime victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium Sunday.
It was Bernard's first career touchdown and a perfecting ending to his day. He finished with 11 catches for 87 yards and was targeted 12 times, all season highs.
It was also the second straight week Bernard came up big for the Steelers. He had six catches for 80 yards in the team's 34-22 win over the Indianapolis Colts in Week 5.
The Steelers selected Bernard with the 47th overall pick in the second
round of the draft after he spent two seasons at Alabama. Bernard led the Crimson Tide in receptions in both 2024 and 2025 and had 64 catches for 862 yards and seven touchdowns as a senior. Through six games of his rookie season, he has 13 receptions for 140 yards.
The Steelers face the New Orleans Saints on Oct. 25 in Paris, France. Kickoff is 8:30 a.m. CT. The game can be seen on NFL Network.
