Chicago Bears rookie wide receiver Zavion Thomas announced his arrival to his team and the rest of the league on Saturday night, and it took him just one play against the Tennessee Titans to do so.
On the first offensive play for the Bears in their preseason finale, Thomas caught a pass down the sideline from quarterback Tyson Bagent, and showcased his elite speed on his way to a 97-yard touchdown reception. Thomas' speed was a big reason for the Bears drafting him where they did in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, and he will certainly be an intriguing weapon in Ben Johnson's offense.
After the game, as the team was all smiles from their 24-15 victory, Thomas was asked about his touchdown run and if the defense had any chance to catch him,
which came with a fun answer that was as quick as his feet: No.
"Nah, he didn't have a chance," Thomas said with a smile on his face as he explained his sole focus was on reaching the end zone.

Thomas and the entire Bears offense had plenty of reason to smile after their win over the Titans, with quarterback Tyson Bagent throwing for 208 yards and two touchdowns, and running back Roschon Johnson punching it in the end zone to continue his strong preseason.
Thomas may be a rookie in a loaded wide receiver room, but that elite speed his hard to find, and will certainly give his head coach incentive to find ways to get him on the field.
