Chicago Bears training camp is in full swing ahead of the 2026 regular season. Under second-year head coach Ben Johnson, the Bears are looking to build on their success from last year and keep pace in a crowded NFC with important meetings and practices at Halas Hall.
After their time in Cincinnati, the Bears returned to Halas Hall for the final open training camp practice of the year. The team made sure to treat the fans in attendance with exciting touchdowns, timely turnovers, and a long drive drill at the very end of practice.
Following every Bears training camp practice, we at Bears Wire will highlight the top players who stood out on the field. Here are the players who stood out from Day 18.
1. RB D'Andre Swift
D'Andre Swift has been one of the biggest stars of training
camp, so it's only right that he goes out with a bang for the final open practice. Swift was breaking off big runs no matter which side of the line he went. CHGO's Adam Jahnsnoted the veteran back scored a 14-yard touchdown from the right side, while the Chicago Tribune's Brad Biggsobserved him getting three nice runs on the left side behind Braxton Jones. This has been a common occurrence for Swift and the strong practices bode well for a fast start to the season.

2. WR Rome Odunze
Another player who seems ready for the regular season to begin is wide receiver Rome Odunze, who has put together a strong camp and looks fully back to normal following last year's heel injury. Odunze made some of the biggest plays of the day, including a leaping touchdown grab in the end zone. On play action, quarterback Caleb Williams went through his reads and came back to Odunze, who had broken free from Tyrique Stevenson. Williams launched the ball his way for the score. Odunze also caught another leaping grab in the middle of the field and earned some yards after the catch with Cam Lewis in coverage. With Luther Burden still out with a groin injury, Odunze has had plenty of reps to strengthen his chemistry with Williams in recent weeks.

3. S Xavier Woods
One of the positions still up for grabs is the safety spot opposite rookie Dillon Thieneman thanks to the Coby Bryant injury, and veteran Xavier Woods made a strong push for consideration with his performance on Tuesday. Woods, who was signed following the Bryant injury a few weeks ago, came down with an interception on the final play of practice, according to Brad Biggs. Quarterback Case Keenum dialed up a deep shot down the left sideline to Kaden Davis, but Woods read the pass all the way for the pick. Biggs also noted Woods had a pass breakup earlier in the day on a Tyson Bagent target to Jahdae Walker.
