It is officially rivalry week between the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers, with the Bears looking to pick up their third straight win over their bitter rival, while Green Bay is looking to get back on track after Chicago knocked them out of the playoffs last year.
The rivalry has intensified thanks to the coldness between Bears head coach Ben Johnson and Packers head coach Matt LaFleur, and now Chicago players are buying in on the bitterness from their coach.
The Bears train at Halas Hall in Lake Forest, Illinois, but offensive lineman Jonah Jackson sees one glaring issue with the town, and it comes down to one road. Appearing on 104.3 The Score, Jackson said he believes it's time for Lake Forest to change their name of Green Bay Road, which
is near Halas Hall.
"I was shocked to see my first time in downtown Lake Forest, was Green Bay Road. I was like wow, they have that here?" Jackson told the Spiegel & Holmes show. "Somebody has to do something to it every Packers week, maybe we change it to Halas Drive or something."
It is both ironic and comical that the most bitter rival's name would be a street near where the Bears practice, and with the success the team has had against the Packers recently, maybe a conversation should be had about a potential name change. Whether it's on the field or in the streets, Chicago has made their hatred for their rival very clear and obvious.
