Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson shared some injury updates ahead of Sunday's Week 6 game against the Atlanta Falcons, which includes several injured starters.
Quarterback Caleb Williams continues to work his way back from a Grade 2 hamstring injury, which has held him out for the last two games. Johnson told reporters that Williams will be a full participant in today's walkthrough practice, which is an encouraging sign that he's in line for a return on Sunday. But Williams must get through the week without a setback, and Johnson noted the Bears have a plan in place.
The Bears also lost several defensive starters to injury in last Sunday's loss to the Green Bay Packers, including cornerback Tyrique Stevenson and linebacker T.J. Edwards. Johnson
said that Stevenson is more day-to-day with Edwards being week-to-week with their respective hamstring injuries.
As for defensive end Dayo Odeyingbo, who suffered a quad injury last Sunday, Johnson said he will "miss some time," but the team doesn't think it's serious enough for him to land on in injured reserve. It isn't encouraging with defensive end Montez Sweat's two-game suspension due to violating the NFL's PED policy.
