The Chicago Bears have made a series of roster moves ahead of their Week 4 matchup against the New York Jets, including placing their starting left tackle on injured reserve. On Saturday, the Bears placed offensive tackle Braxton Jones on injured reserve and elevated defensive back Nick McCloud and defensive end Marcus Davenport to the active roster for Sunday's game.

Jones suffered a knee injury during Monday night's 27-7 win over the Philadelphia Eagles and had already been ruled out for this weekend. Now he will miss a minimum of four weeks and will be eligible to return for Week 8 against the Seattle Seahawks. This
is the fourth consecutive year in which Jones has landed on injured reserve. Theo Benedet is set to start in Jones' place and Ozzy Trapilo could return in the coming weeks as well following his recovery from a torn patellar tendon.
Davenport, meanwhile, is set to make his Bears debut. A first-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft with the New Orleans Saints, Davenport signed with the Bears during training camp and reunited with defensive coordinator Dennis Allen. Davenport has just 3.5 sacks and one tackle for loss over the last three seasons as he battled injuries while playing for the Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions.
McCloud returned to the Bears over the last few weeks after spending the 2025 season as a reserve defensive back. He will add depth on Sunday with Cam Lewis doubtful for the game. McCloud totaled 27 tackles with two passes defensed and allowed an opposing passer rating of 140.7 last year.
