The Chicago Bears came into this season with the chance to make history, facing the AFC Champions, the New England Patriots, on Thursday Night Football, followed by the Super Bowl champions, the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football.
Chicago took care of business with a 30-24 win against the Patriots in Week 7. However, before their Week 8 showdown with the Seahawks, the Bears traded two first round picks for All-Pro defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons. His presence made all the difference for Chicago against Seattle.
With the Bears’ dominant 34-17 win against the Seahawks, they became the first team in NFL history to beat both teams that played in the Super Bowl in the previous season in primetime in back-to-back games.

It is also Chicago’s largest margin of victory against Seattle since defeating them 37-6 back in October of 2006. That was also the last season the Bears went to the Super Bowl and the ninth time ever Chicago has defeated the Seahawks.
The Bears are now 6-2 with the chance to take first place in the division next week with a win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and a loss by the Minnesota Vikings against the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football. Tampa Bay is coming off a 16-0 win against the Atlanta Falcons where they did not complete a pass.
