The Chicago Bears are gearing up for a Week 7 prime-time game against the New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football, where Chicago is looking to improve to 5-2 on a short week.
The Bears are coming off an impressive 31-23 win over the Atlanta Falcons, where quarterback Caleb Williams and cornerback Kyler Gordon provided a massive boost for the offense and defense with dominant showings. The offense dominated the time of possession (40:08) and went 4-for-5 in the red zone, where their lone miss was Roschon Johnson sliding just short of the end zone at the end of the game to preserve the win. On defense, minus three starters, they managed to hold MVP candidate Bijan Robinson to just 61 rushing yards and the team as a whole totaled three takeaways.
Meanwhile, the Patriots are coming off a 23-19 win over the New York Jets, where quarterback Drake Maye threw for three touchdowns in what was an overall ugly game for New England. The Patriots lost three offensive linemen in the win, which isn't encouraging on a short week. But the defense did come away with Geno Smith's first interception of the season in the fourth quarter to preserve the win.
Following an impressive win, the Bears face a short week against the Patriots in prime time, where they'll be looking to improve to 5-2. But what do oddsmakers think about this NFC-AFC matchup?
