With the NFL season right around the corner, it is time to finalize your fantasy plan this season. There are two main strategies when drafting players - target the players who get the most touches even if they are on a poor to decent NFL and team go after players on high-powered offenses.
Based on the first year under head coach Ben Johnson, the Chicago Bears certainly have one of the most dynamic offenses in the league. Because of that, they have a lot of players who are worthy of being on your fantasy roster this season no matter what kind of fantasy league you are in.
Here are the top five players on the Bears who you have to consider drafting this fantasy season.
1. TE Colston Loveland
Tight end is generally the hardest position to draft each year. There are only
so many reliable tight ends, but Colston Loveland is one of them. He led the Bears in receiving yards last season and will be a large part of the receiving core this year. Also, looking at some of the other top-tier tight ends, some of them have injury concerns including Brock Bowers with the Las Vegas Raiders. Loveland, on the other hand, is a reliable option. Trey McBride with the Arizona Cardinals may be the only tight end with more upside than Loveland. So, if you cannot get McBride, get Loveland.
2. QB Caleb Williams
There is a lot to love about Caleb Williams as a fantasy prospect. In his first season under head coach Ben Johnson’s offensive scheme, Williams had the sixth-most touchdown passes and seventh-most passing yards out of any quarterback in the league. He has a handful of weapons including Loveland and wide receivers Rome Odunze and Luther Burden III. The Heisman-winning quarterback was also top-10 among quarterbacks in rushing yards. Williams has everything he needs to be one of the best quarterbacks in fantasy football this season.
3. RB D’Andre Swift
Chicago will rely on both of their running backs, but D'Andre Swift is still the Bears’ starter. Throughout his career, Swift has thrived when playing in Ben Johnson’s offense including last season when he had over 1,000 rushing yards and another 299 in the air. Kyle Monangai will certainly cut into Swift’s production, but he did last season as well. Monangai put up over 750 rushing yards and Swift still managed to have a 1,000-yard season. He may not be the No. 1 running back on your fantasy roster, but he can certainly be the No. 2 back on your team.
4. WR Rome Odunze
Caleb Williams has always spread the ball around; this is part of why the Bears have not had a 1,000-yard receiver since Williams became the quarterback in 2024. Between Loveland, Rome Odunze and Luther Burden, it may be difficult for any of them to hit 1,000 yards. Also, Williams had three interceptions last year when throwing in Odunze’s directions. He did not have a single interception when throwing to Loveland or Burden last season. Perhaps this could mean that Williams has stronger chemistry with Loveland and Burden than Odunze which should give fantasy owners some pause. Certainly, he is worth drafting. But, do not count on Odunze to be your top fantasy receiver.
5. WR Luther Burden III
Another reason to have some pause about Rome Odunze is because of Luther Burden. He had some flashes last season, including his 65-yard touchdown against the Dallas Cowboys that put the NFL on notice. Burden was also second on the Bears in yards after the catch last year. In addition, during training camp, Burden has also been making a case to be Chicago’s top wide receiver. This would seem to imply he could take even more targets from Odunze and become a top fantasy receiver.
