The Chicago Bears had a bit of a scare after Sunday's dominating 23-12 win over the New York Jets when it was revealed running back Kyle Monangai suffered a hand injury during his incredible performance. Fortunately, though, it seems the injury won't be a serious issue for the bruising back.
Speaking with reporters on Monday afternoon, head coach Ben Johnson said he believes Monangai is going to be fine as it relates to his thumb injury and is considered day-to-day. "We think he's going to be okay, so we'll see what it looks like as we go through the week here," Johnson said. "More of a day-to-day deal."
Monangai was a workhorse on Sunday, rushing 30 times for 146 yards and two touchdowns. He also caught a pass for four yards as well. After D'Andre
Swift fumbled in the third quarter, Monangai took on the vast majority of carries until the final drive when Roschon Johnson took over. We'll see what his availability looks like in practice, but it sounds like good news for one of the most important players on offense heading into Week 5 against the Green Bay Packers.
