The Chicago Bears made a statement in their 59-37 win over the Carolina Panthers in Week 1, where their offense had an historic showing that has turned heads around the NFL.
After head coach Ben Johnson made it clear he wants his offense to be the highest-scoring offense in NFL history, his team rose to the occasion in the season opener. The Bears put up 59 points, eight touchdowns, totaled 522 yards of offense and led a dominant rushing attack that featured 291 yards and six rushing touchdowns.
Following Week 1, the Bears have several players leading statistical categories in the NFL, including quarterback Caleb Williams and running backs D'Andre Swift and Kyle Monangai.
Williams currently leads the league in total QBR with a 94.9. Meanwhile,
Swift is tied with Baltimore Ravens running back Derrick Henry with three rushing touchdowns, and Monangai has the longest run of the season so far with his 61-yard touchdown.

There were high expectations surrounding this offense heading into Year 2 under Ben Johnson, but they just blew those expectations out of the water in Week 1 against a good Panthers defense. And listening to Williams and Swift talk after the game -- where it was said this will be their worst game and they should've scored more -- the Bears offense hasn't even yet scratched its potential in 2026.
