The Chicago Bears offense has been one of the best in the NFL through the first month of the 2026 season, and a big part of that is the offensive line.
Chicago’s offensive line allowed the Bears to have over 230 rushing yards against the New York Jets for the second time this season. They have the top run game in the NFL (averaging nearly 200 yards per game) and have only allowed seven sacks; only one of those sacks has been in the past two games.
In Pro Football Focus’ most recent offensive line grades following Week 4, the Bears unit jumped from the No. 5 offensive line in the league to the No. 2 offensive line behind only the Denver Broncos. Here is what PFF had to say about Chicago:
“The biggest movers in the top five, the Bears would be in the No.
1 spot if we were only considering the 2026 season. Darnell Wright has been the story of this group, and he has a strong case for being the best right tackle in football through the first four weeks of the season. Next to him, Jonah Jackson is having a great start to the year too, earning PFF grades above 79.0 both in pass protection and as a run-blocker.”
The biggest question on the offensive line right now is the left tackle. With Braxton Jones on injured reserve, Theo Benedet has taken over until Ozzy Trapilo is ready to come back.
Right now, Chicago's greatest concern at offensive line going into their game against the Green Bay Packers is the health of their talented offensive line with Darnell Wright, Joe Thuney and Jonah Jackson all unable to participate in practice on Wednesday with injuries. Chicago will need the offense at full strength against the Packers to get to 4-1 for the first time since 2020.
