The Chicago Bears are gearing up for a Week 3 prime-time game against the Philadelphia Eagles, where one of the biggest questions is who will start at quarterback for Chicago.
Starter Caleb Williams suffered a hamstring injury last Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, and he was officially ruled out for Monday night. To make matters worse, backup quarterback Tyson Bagent suffered a concussion after replacing Williams late in the fourth quarter, which seemed to indicate that third-string QB Case Keenum would get the starting nod. But, now, there are questions about who will start for Chicago.
Ahead of this Bears-Eagles prime-time game, we still don't know who will start at quarterback of Chicago. Until then, we're keeping track of all of the latest
news and rumors about who starts for the Bears.
Case Keenum expected to start vs. Eagles
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Bears are expected to start third-string quarterback Case Keenum against the Eagles on Monday Night Football. While Tyson Bagent cleared concussion protocol, he only practiced once this week with Keenum getting a bulk of starting reps, which opens the door for his first start since 2023 with the Houston Texans.

Caleb Williams ruled out in Week 3
The Bears will be without starting quarterback Caleb Williams, who suffered a hamstring injury in a Week 2 loss to the Vikings. According to reports, Williams suffered a Grade 2 hamstring injury, which could keep him sidelined for three to four games, starting with Monday night against the Eagles. Williams was previously ruled out for Week 3 after not practicing all week.
Tyson Bagent has cleared concussion protocol
Tyson Bagent replaced an injured Caleb Williams in a Week 2 loss to Minnesota, and he suffered a concussion late in the fourth quarter. Bagent was in concussion protocol until Sunday, when he was officially cleared after practicing Friday and not exhibiting any symptoms for a second consecutive day. But that doesn't mean that Bagent will start, even though he's the backup quarterback.
Case Keenum took starting reps in practice
With both Caleb Williams and Tyson Bagent sidelined for the week, it was QB3 Case Keenum getting starting reps with the offense. The expectation all week is that Keenum would get the start against the Eagles, but the fact that Bagent has cleared concussion protocol certainly raises some questions ahead of Monday night's kickoff.
