Although they did not spend a long time together, the chemistry between veteran wide receiver DJ Moore and 2024 first-round pick Rome Odunze during their time with the Chicago Bears will apparently be a friendship that lasts a long time.
The Bears traded Moore to the Buffalo Bills this offseason, opening the door for Odunze and last year's standout rookie Luther Burden III to lead Chicago's receiver room. But Odunze revealed that he's still keeping in touch with his former teammate.
Earlier this week, Odunze shared that Moore reached out to him at the beginning of training camp to see how everything was going. It's a friendship that Odunze still values, despite them not being teammates anymore.
"That’s my brother," Odunze said, calling Moore a "real
pro's pro" who he learned a lot from on and off the field.
In Chicago, Odunze and Burden will be trusted to lead the passing offense with quarterback Caleb Williams, and it's the 2024 first-round pick who has to have a bounce back year. Last season, Odunze dealt with a foot injury that cost him multiple games and impacted his production, so he'll have to get back to full health to really reach the potential that the franchise sees in him as a leader of the offense.
