Former Chicago Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery, one of the most explosive play-making receivers that the Bears have had in the past two decades, never wanted to change teams.
Jeffrey was a second round pick of Chicago back in the 2012 NFL Draft, and he joined the Philadelphia Eagles prior to the 2017 season, where he played out the rest of his playing career through the 2021 season.
Last week, Jeffrey appeared on 104.3 The Score and revealed that he thought he would spend his entire career with the Bears. Jeffery also shot down the fact that he was unhappy in Chicago and just was seeking a bit more incentives in a contract with the Bears, which ultimately led him to Philadelphia.
"I never wanted to leave Chicago, it was just unfortunately on
the end of business," Jeffery said. "I thought I would be a Bear forever. My agent at the time, we tried to make it right, I would've taken less but I just needed a few other things in the contract. I feel like at the time, they just felt in their best interest I should go out there and see what I can get out on the open market. I took the one year deal with Philly and they promised me an extension."
Jeffery would go on to win a Super Bowl during his tenure with the Eagles, when they defeated the New England Patriots in Super Bowl LII in the 2017 season. All things considered, both sides were able to move on and Jeffery still has love and loyalty for the team that drafted him back in the 2012 season.
