Last week was an offensive disaster for the Chicago Bears against their biggest rivals, the Green Bay Packers. They only scored on one drive and turned the ball over five times, including a lost fumble from wide receiver Rome Odunze.
The loss dropped Chicago to 3-2 on the year in a three-way tie with the Detroit Lions and Packers at the bottom of the NFC North. The Minnesota Vikings are still on top as they remain undefeated.
With Detroit and Minnesota on bye and the Packers favored over the Dallas Cowboys this Sunday, the Bears need to win this game to keep pace in the division. Odunze said winning against the Falcons is also the only way for them to feel better after the Packers game.
“The only thing that’s going to make us feel better is going out
and get a win versus Atlanta,” Odunze said. “At the end of the day there’s nothing we can kind of hang our hat on at the end of the day with a game like that. We want to go out there and play the next opponent and have a winning feeling in our spirit. So we’re looking to go get that done.”
In Chicago’s games this season, Odunze has been targeted a similar amount in wins and losses. However, his catch percentage is significantly higher in the Bears’ wins. In the three games Chicago has won, Odunze caught nearly 70 percent of his passes whereas he only caught about 46 percent of his passes in losses. He also averages over 20 more yards per game in wins versus losses.
