The Chicago Bears defeated the New York Jets, 23-12, in a Week 4 game where it was never as close as the score indicated as Chicago dominated on offense and defense en route to their second straight win and a 3-1 record.
The Bears started a third different quarterback in as many weeks with Tyson Bagent getting the nod over Case Keenum, who impressed on Monday Night Football against the Philadelphia Eagles. Chicago has now won a game with three different quarterbacks this season -- against good defenses -- which is a testament to head coach Ben Johnson and this offense.
The Bears had 89 offensive plays to the Jets' 32 plays, and Chicago out-gained New York 492 yards to 197 yards. Running back Kyle Monangai was the star of the game with a career
showing with 30 carries for 146 yards and two touchdowns, and wide receivers Rome Odunze and Luther Burden III also had strong showings. Meanwhile, despite not recording a takeaway, the Bears' defense dominated and allowed just 12 points -- including six off Chicago turnovers.

Ben Johnson with Case Keenum… W
Ben Johnson with Tyson Bagent… W
This is what generational looks like.
That had to be one of the most lopsided 11 point games in NFL history:

The Bears ran 89 plays compared to 32 for the Jets...a whopping differential of 57!
The Jets time of possession in the 1st quarter was 2:11. In the fourth it was 0:45.
Did the Bears really run 89 plays to the Jets 32 today???

I know the Bears are good, but the #Jets being this noncompetitive against a team starting a backup QB is a brutal look for the entire operation, and most notably the head coach. He's headed to 4-17 here.

The Bears offense has 71 plays to the Jets' 30. 28 first downs to the Jets' 5.

Scoreboard makes it look closer than it's been. Bears defense has been suffocating all game.

Bears averaging almost 400 yards of offense and 23.5 points through 7 quarters with backup QBs against good defenses.

This an all-time offensive coach.
The Bears have won three of their first four games with three different starting quarterbacks. Ben Johnson is a god.

If Caleb Williams doesn't get hurt, this Bears team is 4-0
— Dave (@davebftv) October 4, 2026
This game has been a four-quarter chokehold by the Bears' offense, just dominating in the possession category and slowing removing the Jets' chances in this game.
— Chris Emma (@ChrisEmma1) October 4, 2026
Gotta give Tyson Bagent credit. He's kept the #Bears afloat. That's all you can ask for out of your backup QB.
— Jacob Infante (@jacobinfante24) October 4, 2026
Was it a flawed game? Sure, but so many NFL teams have worse backups than Bagent. Cool to know that Chicago has three capable QBs on the roster.
Give this man his flowers. Bears defense has completely turned it around pic.twitter.com/B9scY3Gj8Y

If Caleb played today, Bears easily score 40 points minimum

Being able to win with your QB2, QB3 when Caleb Williams is injured is an INSANE luxury. These Chicago Bears aren't going away. Ben Johnson, Dennis Allen, the entire coaching staff keep these guys ready. Shoutout to the OL and DL for doing their things today. pic.twitter.com/jK2CjZ8aOC

The Bears are going to come away with the W. But make no mistake, Tyson Bagent was throwing hot ham & Swiss sandwiches in 70 degree weather today.
