Chicago Bears offensive tackle Ozzy Trapilo has made remarkable strides in his recovery from a torn patellar tendon he suffered in January. He returned to practice in August and has been a full participant over the last week as he shows signs of getting closer to returning to game action. Unfortunately, he and Bears fans alike will need to wait another week.
Prior to Saturday's practice ahead of their prime-time matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football, head coach Ben Johnson told reporters Trapilo still is not ready to play in an NFL game just yet. Per Jason Lieser of the Chicago Sun-Times, the Bears aren't quite ready to turn Trapilo loose, whether it's as a starter or as a depth player. "No," is all Johnson said when

With Trapilo out for another game, the Bears will continue to start Braxton Jones at left tackle. They also may rotate Theo Benedet throughout the game, as they did in Week 2 during their 9-3 loss against the Minnesota Vikings. Jones has surrendered just two total pressures and no sacks through two games.
Though Trapilo won't be suiting up, the Bears did other positive injury news on Saturday. Quarterback Tyson Bagent has cleared concussion protocol and will be available for Monday's game, while kicker Cairo Santos is back at practice, and cornerback Tyrique Stevenson has been trending in the right direction.
