The Chicago Bears moved to 2-1 after their win against the Philadelphia Eagles thanks to quarterback Case Keenum, who started after Caleb Williams was unable to play due to a hamstring injury and Tyson Bagent spent most of the week in concussion protocol.
Keenum had one of the best games of his career with three total touchdowns - two passing touchdowns and a rushing touchdown - and completed nearly 71 percent of his passes without getting sacked in what was a dominant showing after a previously-undefeated Eagles squad.
Keenum's performance created questions of who would start in their Week 4 game against the New York Jets since, Williams is expected to still be out. While head coach Ben Johnson is still not revealing who the starter will be,
running back D’Andre Swift is confident in whoever the starter is.
“With how detailed that room is and with the job, assignments and how they are, they kind of control the huddle when they’re in there. When they hand them opportunities they all do a great job,” Swift said. “Whoever they put out there we have the utmost belief that they’re going to be able to get the job done.”
Swift reached a milestone of his own in Chicago’s win versus the Eagles, hitting 5,000 career rushing yards. He also has the twelfth-most rushing yards among active running backs in the NFL. Swift and the rest of the Bears’ run game struggled in the first half against Philadelphia, but Keenum kept the offense moving and got 10 points on the board although it should have been more. Keenum certainly could be Chicago’s starter moving forward until Williams comes back.
