The Chicago Bears were dominant on the offensive side of the ball in their Week 4 win over the New York Jets, and they once again used a dominant rushing attack, although it was Kyle Monangai, not D'Andre Swift, who carried the load.
Swift and the Bears offense struggled to find the end zone early in the game, getting stopped on fourth-and-goal, and after a second half fumble, Swift would be benched for Monangai, who ended the game with 146 rushing yards and two touchdowns, and Roschon Johnson.
After the game, Monangai address the team's rushing success, acknowledging that opposing defenses know what is coming, but they have to make the right moves to stop it. In four games, the Bears have the top rushing attack in the NFL with 785 yards in four weeks,
averaging 196.3 yards per game on the ground.
After the game, Monangai sent a warning to the rest of the NFL when they face the Bears.
“We all know we’re going to run the ball," Monangai said. "Other team knows it. Everybody watching at home knows it … You gotta come stop us.”
Monangai and Swift are making a real argument as the best running back duo in the NFL, and they're starting to pull away from all others in the NFL. The Bears offense continues to thrive at the highest level when their running game succeeds, leading to an opening for the passing game.
