Former Chicago Bears third-round offensive tackle Kiran Amegadjie is signing with the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.
The Bears waived Amegadjie as part of their final roster cuts on Sunday. Fowler reported the Bears explored trade possibilities for Amegadjie prior to the roster cutdown deadline. Ultimately, no trade materialized.
Amegadjie was selected by the Bears in the third round of the 2024 NFL Draft out of Yale. Billed as a developmental pick, Amegadjie was inactive much of his rookie season but made one start late in the year on Monday Night Football against the Minnesota Vikings. His debut didn't go as planned, and Amegadjie never made another start.
Last season, Amegadjie battled for one of the final
roster spots, and though he made the team, he didn't play a snap all year long while battling injuries. He was in the left tackle mix entering training camp along with Braxton Jones, Theo Benedet, and Jedrick Wills but wasn't able to capitalize on the opportunity.
