For the first two years of his Chicago Bears career, it took a few weeks for running back D'Andre Swift to hit his stride. 2026 has been a different story so far, and Swift was recognized for his strong performance in Week 1.
Swift was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his role in the Bears' 59-37 pounding of the Carolina Panthers. He carried the ball 18 times for 124 yards and a career-high three rushing touchdowns in the win. He also added one catch for 10 yards.

It's been a great week for Swift, who signed a new three-year extension worth up to $33 million last Friday that will keep him under contract through the 2029 season. Swift is the first Bears player to earn the award since tight end Colston
Loveland in Week 9 of the 2025 season, and is the first Bears running back to earn the award since Jordan Howard in Week 8 of the 2016 season, per 104.3 The Score's Chris Emma.
