Chicago Bears linebacker TJ Edwards is back at training camp. On Wednesday, the team activated the veteran linebacker off the non-football injury (NFI) list after being out for a week and a half with a minor muscle strain. He is expected to be out on the field during Wednesday's practice.

Edwards, who signed a contract extension last offseason, suffered a broken fibula during the Bears' wild card game against the Green Bay Packers. He was practicing during mini camp, a positive sign that he would be ready for camp, but an injury he suffered away from the facility caused him to miss time. Now back in the fold, Edwards will compete for the starting middle linebacker job with
D'Marco Jackson.
