Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams had another sensational showing in a 30-24 win over the New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football, where he's now 3-0 in full games that he's played this season.
Williams followed up an impressive performance against the Atlanta Falcons with perhaps an even better one against the Patriots. He completed 22-of-33 passes (66.7%) for 308 yards and two touchdowns with no turnovers. Williams out-dueled draft mate Drake Maye, who also had a solid showing in a battle between two young, rising quarterbacks.
Williams had his second straight 300-yard passing performance, and he did it in a different way than Week 6. For all the criticism Williams received for his check downs against the Falcons, he aired it out
against New England with some truly special throws, including the shot to Rome Odunze on third-and-long to help extend the drive that put his team up two scores in the final minutes. Williams had eight completions of 20-plus yards against the Patriots, effectively silencing those critics.
Now, he's emerging as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL this season. Here's a look at where Williams lands among the rest of NFL quarterbacks in Total QBR after Week 7, per ESPN.
