Before he made the start in Week 3 against the Philadelphia Eagles, Chicago Bears quarterback Case Keenum set the tone for the team while taking all of the practice reps.
Keenum was named the starter after injuries forced Caleb Williams out and Tyson Bagent was only cleared from concussion protocol the day before the game, and with the veteran running the show, his teammates noticed the energy around the 38-year quarterback.
Wide receiver Kalif Raymond, who joined Chicago before the season on a one-year deal, and has been a consistent source of production on offense in the first three games, had high praise for how Keenum handled practice.
"He's been doing it a long time," Raymond said. "A lot of confidence in him, a lot of confidence in himself,
and his prep, particularly this week, we didn't expect anything different from him. Poise, calm, and having fun. He was asking if we were having fun, cause he was. I'm just glad he got to score with the QB sneak."
In his first three games with the Bears, Raymond has been reliable on offense, hauling in 19 receptions with 214 yards, and one touchdown, which was the 41-yard score he had against the Eagles. Raymond has familiarity with Ben Johnson from their time in Detroit and is just another prime example of the veterans helping the Bears locker room this season.
