The Chicago Bears will battle the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football in Week 3, but they'll be without some key starters (and depth players) for a pivotal NFC conference showdown.
Following news of quarterback Caleb Williams being "week-to-week" with a hamstring injury, which is expected to keep him sidelined at least for Week 3, it was revealed that backup quarterback Tyson Bagent is in concussion protocol and his status for Monday night in doubt.
On Wednesday, head coach Ben Johnson met with the media to share some updates on other injuries around the team, including announcing that defensive tackle Shemar Turner and linebacker Noah Sewell have opened their 21-day window to return from injured reserve. Cornerback Kyler Gordon, who
was also eligible, remains sidelined at this time. Johnson was asked if there's any optimism about Gordon, to which he replied: "I've got nothing to add there."
Meanwhile, cornerback Tyrique Stevenson, who suffered a hamstring injury in last Sunday's loss to the Minnesota Vikings, is "week-to-week," meaning we could get a glimpse of rookie Malik Muhammad running exclusively on the outside.
Left tackle Ozzy Trapilo, who the Bears have been cautious with ramping up, is expected to practice in full on Wednesday, indicating he could be gearing up for a return to the lineup.
