The Chicago Bears announced a couple of roster moves ahead of Tuesday's training camp practice. The Bears are signing offensive lineman Wesley French and waived defensive back Brandon Hill.
French, a former undrafted free agent out of Western Michigan, signed with the Indianapolis Colts back in 2022, where he spent three seasons. He didn't see any game action during his rookie season. In 2023, French appeared in 17 games with three starts with the Colts at center.
French also made stops with the Dallas Cowboys and Cleveland Browns in 2025, as part of their respective practice squads.
Hill is a former seventh-round pick with the Houston Texans in 2023, spending his entire rookie season on the practice squad. He suffered a season-ending knee injury
during the 2024 preseason and was waived the following March after a failed physical. But Hill re-signed to the practice squad before being cut later that December. The following two seasons, Hill spent time on the practice squad with the Las Vegas Raiders (2025) and Texans again (2025).
