The Chicago Bears are gearing up for a Week 2 showdown against the Minnesota Vikings, where they're looking to start the year off at 2-0 while getting an early, key NFC North win. But there's one key injury worth monitoring in right tackle Darnell Wright.
Wright, who finished last Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers, popped up on Wednesday's injury report with a knee injury, which is something worth monitoring this week. Wright was a crucial component of Chicago's run dominance, where they totaled 291 yards and six touchdowns. With a key game on deck, Wright's availability will be important for building on last week's win.
Here's the latest injury update on Wright ahead of Sunday's pivotal NFC North showdown between the Bears and Vikings:
Darnell Wright injury update
Wright was a surprise addition to Wednesday's injury report, where he was listed as a non-participant with a knee injury. Reporters noted that Wright was spotted in the locker room after practice, which is certainly an encouraging sign. Head coach Ben Johnson met with the media before practice and has yet to have an opportunity to address Wright's injury. All eyes will be on Thursday's injury report to get a sense of where Wright is heading into Sunday's pivotal Week 2 matchup against the Vikings.
Darnell Wright returns to practice on Thursday
There was some good news regarding Wright's status on Thursday, where Devan Kaney spotted Wright back on the practice field after missing Wednesday's workout. Wright warmed up and participated in position drills on Thursday. We'll see how that correlates to the official injury report coming later today.

Will Darnell Wright play in Week 2?
It's still early in the week, but the fact that Wright returned to practice on Thursday -- coupled with head coach Ben Johnson saying the Bears escaped Week 1 without any major injuries -- certainly indicates that Chicago's star right tackle should be good to go against the Vikings on Sunday.
