Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams continues to wow people from all across the NFL with his stellar play.
In last week’s win over the Carolina Panthers, Williams threw for 279 yards and two touchdowns while completing over 70% of his passes, as well as 65 rushing yards and two scores, leading his team to a 59 point offensive outburst. The third-year quarterback now known as “The Iceman” built off his strong sophomore season in his first game this year, proving he continues to progress in his development.
Brian Baldinger, who is one of the best film analysts that gives great breakdowns on social media, recently praised Williams, calling the Bears quarterback a “magician” for his marvelous play last week. Appearing on the Pat McAfee Show,
Baldinger broke down what makes Williams so special in his eyes and how his teammates are buying in.
"When Ben Johnson came out in August and said they want to be the highest scoring offense in football, of all-time, he wasn't joking," Baldinger said. "He was breaking barriers of everyone in Halas Hall. He's got an escape artist in Caleb Williams, and a magician. You just see the whole buy-in, you see the Kyle Monangai 61-yard touchdown run, and you see the blocks by Luther Burden and Kalif Raymond. It's how everybody is coached and what the expectation is, at every single position."
Williams played with a bit more patience and understanding in the win over the Panthers, something his coaches discussed as a focus point for this year. The incredible comebacks during the 2025 season were fun, but if Williams continues to take the smart play each and every week, he will show even more maturation in his game while his teammates continue to buy in with their belief.
