There have been several reactions around the NFL and within the Chicago Bears organization in the wake of the hamstring injury suffered by quarterback Caleb Williams.
While the team avoided a major disaster and hope to get Williams back on the field in a matter of weeks, one teammate believes that the emotions the quarterback displayed after the injury was more about not being able to lead the team.
This week, defensive tackle Neville Gallimore joined "Rahimi & Grote" on 104.3 The Score, and he said he felt that Williams' reaction to the injury was more about him letting down his teammates.
"I don't think that was dramatic at all," Gallimore said. "I feel like everybody handles pain according to how their body feels. It was a tough thing physically
and mentally. I look at the person and the character, he's so passionate about the game. As painful as the injury felt, I think it was that and on top of him wanting to go above and beyond for his teammates. I don't think it was dramatic at all. On the plus side, I know he's going to do whatever it takes to get back on the field. I don't really listen to the outside noise. He loves this game, he loves his teammates, and he loves to compete."
The outside noise is certainly loud around the Bears and Williams right now, and with a marquee matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday night, the team has to bounce back as quickly as they can while overcoming adversity.
