The Chicago Bears offense saw a boost from the return of quarterback Caleb Williams, who played for the first time since his hamstring injury in Week 2, leading his team to a 31-23 win over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6.
Williams had his best passing performance in his three-year career, completing 30-of-36 passes (83.3%) for 305 yards for one touchdown, no turnovers and a 111.2 passer rating. Chicago's offense controlled the ball for 40 minutes and totaled 368 yards, 31 points and Williams led the charge.
After Sunday's win, Williams discussed how his hamstring was feeling after playing in his first game since Sept. 20, and while he acknowledged it's going to be a weekly thing, his body was feeling pretty good.
“It felt good," Williams said. "Yeah,
it felt good. Body feels great. Obviously I got hit a couple of times. It felt great to get hit after three weeks of just rehabbing. So, feel strong, feel good. Obviously got to go and take care of it this week. It's going to be a weekly thing, just taking care of it, staying up to date on it and taking care of my body.”
The Bears have a short week coming up as they face the New England Patriots on Thursday Night Football, so it'll be key for Williams to rest up and prepare for a game just four days after Week 6's win. The good news is, after Thursday night's game, Williams will have 10 days to rest up before Week 8 against the Seattle Seahawks on Monday Night Football.
