Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams made his triumphant return to the starting lineup in Sunday's 31-23 win over the Atlanta Falcons after missing the last three games with a hamstring injury.
Ahead of his return, Williams changed his profile picture to John Wick, portrayed by Keanu Reeves, with the phrase “I’m inevitable” in his bio. After Chicago’s win against the Falcons, Williams revealed what led him to make those changes and shared that Reeves in fact reached out to him.
“I was watching John Wick for this week, a couple of his movies I watched. He actually reached out, which was really cool or one of my people reached out to him and he was a fun,” Williams said. “So, big fan of his and so, that was my profile picture. The mindset of him is also
what it was. That’s why it was my profile picture. I’m inevitable. That’s always my mentality every single day that I get to live and breathe.”
Williams truly was inevitable in Chicago’s win against the Falcons. He threw his 50th total touchdown on the opening drive to tight end Colston Loveland. The Bears had 31 total points, marking their second game of the year with at least 30 points, and Williams threw for over 300 yards for the sixth time in his NFL career and first time this season. His 83.3 percent completion percentage was also a career-high.
Chicago will need Williams to be inevitable throughout the rest of this season, starting with their Thursday night game against the New England Patriots. So far in his career, Williams has not won a Thursday game but has the chance to change that in Week 8 to get the Bears to 5-2 on the year. Especially with how competitive the NFC North is, every win matters.
