The Chicago Bears made a splash when they traded for defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, sending two first-round picks to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for one of the best defensive players in the NFL. But it sounds like they might not be done just yet ahead of the Nov. 10 deadline.
According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Bears are still calling around about edge rushers, and there's one name that continues to be linked to them: Los Angeles Chargers edge rusher Khalil Mack.
"The Bears may not actually be done...I'm told they are still calling around still looking on the edges of their defense. Wouldn't be surprised if a Khalil Mack trade was in the offer here. A possible reunion for Mack and the Bears."
Mack's name has been connected with the
Bears for the last few weeks, and with the deadline fast approaching, things are starting to pick up steam. Much like DeForest Buckner to the San Francisco 49ers was an obvious move, Mack to the Bears makes plenty of sense after his four seasons in Chicago, where he was a three-time Pro Bowler and two-time All-Pro and made an impressive impact on defense.
Report have indicated the Chargers aren't ready to start selling just yet, but with them sitting at 0-6 with the Los Angeles Rams on deck, so you have to assume if they drop to 0-7 that a move could happen as soon as early next week.
