The Chicago Bears are gearing up for a Week 9 prime-time game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday Night Football, where Chicago is looking to win their fourth straight game and improve to 7-2 before heading into their bye week.
The Bears are coming off a 34-17 statement win over the Seattle Seahawks, where Chicago's offense out-dueled the league's best defense in the Seahawks, becoming the first team to pass for 200 yards (247), the first team to score three rushing touchdowns (all D'Andre Swift) and they scored the most points (34) against the Seahawks this season. Meanwhile, Chicago's defense was rejuvenated with the addition of All-Pro defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons, whose presence opened things up for the rest of the defense, which
totaled three sacks and intercepted Sam Darnold in the fourth quarter.
Meanwhile, the Buccaneers are coming off a 16-0 win over the Atlanta Falcons, which marked their second straight win since the return of quarterback Baker Mayfield. Tampa Bay totaled a whopping 324 rushing yards including a pair of 100-yard rushers in Bucky Irving (170) and Kenny Gainwell (140). But the crazy thing is that Mayfield didn't complete a pass in this game, going 0-for-3. But the defense totaled four interceptions on the day.
Following another statement win, the Bears have a short turnaround before they play in their third straight prime-time game, where they're looking for their seventh win and make strides in the NFC North ahead of their bye week. But what do oddsmakers think about this NFC matchup?
