If you're looking to buy last-minute tickets to the Chicago Bears' Thursday Night Football matchup against the New England Patriots, be prepared to pay a hefty price for tickets. Thursday's game between the two playoff-hopeful teams has become the hottest ticket of the NFL season.
According to TickPick, Bears-Patriots has become the most expensive NFL game this season. Get-in prices have exceeded $700 as of Thursday morning, with tickets skyrocketing following the announcement that the Bears will honor legendary coach and player Mike Ditka, who passed away on October 9th. Every fan will receive a fake mustache, while the first 10,000 fans will receive a Bears' knit headband that resembles Ditka's well-known sweater vest. The Bears will also honor Ditka with on-field
tributes, as well as a video.
The Ditka tributes have people excited, but the game itself is one of the most anticipated matchups of the season. Third-year quarterbacks Drake Maye and Caleb Williams are set to go toe-to-toe, while Mike Vrabel and Ben Johnson will try and see who can outcoach the other.
Not only is this game the most expensive game up to this point in the season, but it's also one of the most expensive games in Bears regular season history. TickPick reports that this is the second most expensive regular season game in Bears history with an average purchase price of $590. The game's get-in price was $419 prior to the Ditka giveaway announcement, and has since ballooned to $700.
Hopefully the Bears can start Week 7 with a win and give the fans who paid a pretty penny to attend something to celebrate.
