The Dallas Cowboys have released former Chicago Bears preseason standout cornerback Reddy Steward, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Steward signed with the Bears as an undrafted free agent out of Troy in 2024, and he quickly emerged as a standout in training camp. He got the opportunity to run with the first-team defense due to injuries, and he had a strong showing in the final preseason game with two interceptions, including a pick-6. Steward appeared in one regular-season game for Chicago in 2024, where he totaled one tackle and forced one fumble.
Steward signed a reserve/future deal with the Minnesota Vikings in January 2025 before he was released as part of final cuts in August 2025. But Steward really saw significant action when he was claimed
off waivers by the Dallas Cowboys shortly after.
