Immediately after the game was over between the Chicago Bears and New York Jets, a 23-12 win for Chicago, head coach Ben Johnson wasted zero time in moving his attention forward. During his post-game victory speech in the locker room, Johnson made it clear that the focus has already shifted to the Week 5 matchup against the Green Bay Packers.
Chicago is looking for their third straight victory over the Packers, which includes a win in the wild-card playoffs last January, and the Bears players are buying in on their head coach. Speaking to the media on Monday, wide receiver Luther Burden III made it clear that he, his teammates, and every Bears fan wants to make Green Bay quit.
"I feel like he wants to beat them really bad, like everybody else
in the room, every Chicago fan," Burden said. "We just want to beat them real bad and make them quit."
The rivalry between Chicago and Green Bay has picked up in intensity since Ben Johnson's arrival, and with the Bears having a 3-1 record and the Packers at 2-2, bragging rights will most certainly be on the line. Currently, Chicago trails the Minnesota Vikings by a game in the NFC North division race, with Minnesota still undefeated and owning a win over the Bears back in Week 2.
Chicago and Green Bay delivered plenty of drama and excitement over their three games lasat year, and now the mentality has become ruthless for the Bears in taking on their bitter rival.
