The Chicago Bears are reeling after their embarrassing loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, and it's no secret that they're missing starting quarterback Caleb Williams, who's missed the last three games with a hamstring injury. But it sounds like Williams is gearing up for a return.
Ahead of Sunday's game against the Packers, Williams was spotted going through an intense pre-game workout, where he looked like himself less than a month after his Grade 2 hamstring injury. Heading into this game, Williams was questionable after practicing for the first time, albeit in limited fashion on Fridya.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Williams is poised for a return to the lineup this Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.
"All signs point to Caleb
Williams being back on the field this week for Chicago," Rapoport said.
Following the loss to the Packers, head coach Ben Johnson was asked about Williams' status for Week 6, and he didn't give too much away but said that Williams is nearing a return.
"He's on track," Johnson said. "We'll see if that's Atlanta or after. I think it's going to be close."
The Bears have gone 2-1 since Williams went down with a hamstring injury in a Week 2 loss against the Minnesota Vikings and currently sit at 3-2. If Williams is able to return next week, it would be a huge boost for a Chicago offense that has plenty to clean up after a poor showing against the Packers.
