The Chicago Bears suffered a deflating 31-7 loss to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, where all three phases were outplayed and Ben Johnson and his staff were out-coached in his worst game since joining the Bears.
Chicago's performances across the board were horrid, with little to feel good about on either the offensive or defensive side of the ball. Quarterback Tyson Bagent was benched in the second half for veteran Case Keenum, meanwhile, Green Bay's quarterback Jordan Love looked like a true All-Pro with the way he picked apart the Bears secondary.
There were a number of good and bad performances in this embarrassing loss. Here are the best and worst performers, according to Pro Football Focus:
Best offense grades
- RG Jonah Jackson: 80.7
- C Garrett Bradbury: 71.7
- RB D'Andre Swift: 66.4
- WR Zavion Thomas: 66.1
- RT Darnell Wright: 65.9
Even in a horrible showing as a team, the Bears
continue to have one of the best offensive lines in the NFL and their same top contributors performed to their expectations on Sunday. After fumbling and being benched last week, D'Andre Swift played well, although the box score won't show it, he was running hard, and had full ball security.
Worst offense grades
- QB Tyson Bagent: 32.9
- QB Case Keenum: 40.4
- WR Kalif Raymond: 50.6
- TE Colston Loveland: 50.9
- WR Rome Odunze: 54.5
Chicago's passing game was invisible on Sunday, and both quarterbacks played poorly against Green Bay, and their weapons were all non-existent as well. Rome Odunze struggled with dropping multiple passes that were there for the taking, and Colston Loveland continues to struggle this season.
Best defense grades
- DE Austin Booker: 86.8
- LB Devin Bush: 86.2
- LB Noah Sewell: 80.9
- DT Neville Gallimore: 79.3
- DT Grady Jarrett: 77.1
Chicago's front seven on defense played well, and Austin Booker is really starting to turn a corner in his progression and development. Getting two sacks on the same drive, Booker is starting to establish himself as the top pass rushing option opposite of Montez Sweat, and if he can keep the development going, his progression will be fun to watch.
Worst defense grades
- LB T.J. Edwards: 25.7
- S Xavier Woods: 28.8
- CB Malik Muhammad: 36.9
- S Dillon Thieneman: 45.5
- DB Cam Lewis: 47.1
For the first time in his young career, Dillon Thieneman really struggled as did his rookie colleague Malik Muhammad. The Bears secondary were absolutely torched throughout the game, and no one in the back half of the defense played well. Adding injury to insult, T.J. Edwards left the game with a hamstring issue, which will severely hurt the Bears linebackers.
