After playing coy with the starting quarterback in Week 4 against the New York Jets, Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson isn't playing games heading into Week 5 against the Green Bay Packers.
Johnson announced on his weekly radio show on ESPN 1000
that Tyson Bagent will start against the Packers, indicating that starting quarterback Caleb Williams still isn't ready to return from his hamstring injury.Bagent was the Bears' primary quarterback in their 23-12 win over the Jets, although Case Keenum technically got the start after taking the first snap in the game, as Johnson wanted to keep people guessing about the quarterback situation.
Bagent completed 25-of-34 passes for 268 yards with zero touchdowns and one interception for a 83.9 passer rating.
While Bagent was solid in place of Williams, there are definitely some things for him to clean up against the Packers in a big-time rivalry game with NFC North seeding on the line at Lambeau Field.
