After registering a crucial, fourth-quarter blocked field goal in Detroit's 20-17 win over the Green Bay Packers (5-3) at Ford Field on Sunday, Detroit Lions (4-2) EDGE DJ Wonnum has been named the Week 7 NFC Special Teams Player of the Week.
Wonnum's fingertip block on what could have been a Green Bay go-ahead field-goal attempt with 3:25 left in the fourth quarter helped keep the Lions tied and set up the game-winning drive that ended with a Jake Bates 22-yard field goal as time expired.

Along with the blocked field goal, the 6-foot-5, 262-pounder added two tackles, bringing his season total to 12 (7 solo, 5 assisted), and five sacks in six games. This is also the seventh-year pro's first career Player
of the Week designation.
Wonnum and the Lions welcome in the NFC North-leading Minnesota Vikings (6-0) to Ford Field on Sunday, Nov. 1, with kickoff at 1 p.m. ET on FOX.
