The first game week of the season has arrived as the Detroit Lions open against the New Orleans Saints with a home date inside Ford Field on Sunday, Sept. 13 at 1 p.m. ET.
As the Lions get ready to host the Saints, Detroit released its first injury report of the week. The Lions didn't practice on Wednesday, making Detroit's initial injury report an estimated practice designation.
A trio of Lions defenders were listed as limited participants: defensive back Christian Izien, rookie EDGE Derrick Moore and defensive lineman Mekhi Wingo.

While that calls into question that trio's Sunday availability, the Lions got good news elsewhere. Star tight end Sam LaPorta
wasn't listed. LaPorta suffered a hip injury during training camp. At the time, Lions head coach Dan Campbell was optimistic that LaPorta would be available for the season opener but he was also noncommittal. Wednesday's report indicates that LaPorta should be ready to start in the Lions' season opener.
Rookie linebacker Jimmy Rolder and safety Thomas Harper were also both full participants. Other names listed included cornerback Keith Abney II, linebacker Trevor Nowaske and cornerback Ennis Rakestraw. Here's the Lions' full Wednesday injury report:
