After guiding the Detroit Lions to a 2-1 record through the first three weeks of the 2026-27 regular season, quarterback Jared Goff joined an elite group in NFL history with his performance in the process.
According to the Lions' public relations team, Goff became the sixth quarterback in NFL history to complete 70% of their passes, throw for at least 800 yards and eight touchdowns with no interceptions through the first three games of any season.
Alongside Goff, the list includes Kirk Cousins (2021), Patrick Mahomes (2019), Drew Brees (2018), Tom Brady (2015), and Peyton Manning (2013).

So far this season, Goff has passed for 802 yards and eight touchdowns, with a 70.6% completion rate.
With Detroit facing a Carolina Panthers defense that just placed two of their star cornerbacks on injured reserve, Goff should be in prime position to improve those stats on Sunday night at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, N.C.
The Lions (2-1) and Panthers (1-2) kick off at 8:20 p.m. ET, and the game will air on NBC and stream Peacock.
