The Detroit Lions' defense has experienced its share of struggles through five games, but one position group continues to separate itself from the competition. According to Pro Football Focus, three Lions rank among the NFL's most productive players at generating quarterback pressure.
As it entered its bye week, Aidan Hutchinson's 32 pressures ranked No. 2 among all players. Hutchinson's 32 pressures are tied for the most in the NFL among EDGE players that have played just five games.
The two-time Pro Bowler and second-team All-Pro in 2025 is also the highest-rated EDGE by PFF. Hutchinson continues to establish himself as one of the league's most disruptive forces and leads a unit that is becoming a nightmare for opposing offensive coordinators.

Alim McNeill has been equally impressive, generating 23 pressures, which led all interior defensive linemen as the Lions entered their bye week. McNeill still ranks tied-second among all defensive linemen.
Rookie Skyler Gill-Howard has also emerged as a significant contributor, notching 13 pressures of his own. Entering last week, Gill-Howard's pressures were tops among rookie interior defensive linemen and third among all rookies.
The trio has combined for 68 total pressures through five games, highlighting Detroit's ability to obstruct opposing quarterbacks from multiple positions along the defensive front. The unit currently leads the NFL with 20 sacks.
With Detroit at 3-2 entering Week 7, maintaining that pressure while improving pass coverage will be crucial to the team's success moving forward. The Lions host the Green Bay Packers (4-2) on Sunday from Ford Field. Kickoff is set for 4:25 p.m. ET with the game broadcast on FOX.
