Detroit Lions running back Jahmyr Gibbs crossed off another couple milestones with his latest big day against the New York Jets.
Gibbs had a spectacular 17-yard run in the third quarter to reach the end zone for the fourth time this season. While the run itself gave off Barry Sanders vibes, Gibbs matched multiple marks set by another legendary Lions running back in Billy Sims.

Gibbs joined Sims as the only players in franchise history to produce 100+ scrimmage yards and a touchdown in each of the first three games of a season. The touchdown also marked the 42nd rushing score of Gibbs' career, tying Sims for the second-most rushing touchdowns in franchise history.
A few minutes later, Gibbs scored again,
surpassing Billy Sims' career rushing touchdowns mark. The franchise leader is Barry Sanders with a modest 99 rushing touchdowns.

Gibbs' next opportunity to add to his career totals will come on "Sunday Night Football" on Oct. 4 at the Carolina Panthers (1-2). Kickoff is set for 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC.
The Lions improved to 2-1 with their Sunday win over the Jets.
