What is the story about?

Carolina leading receiver Jalen Coker's status has been in question throughout the course of this week. Is the star pass-catcher available tonight as the Panthers (1-2) play host to the Detroit Lions (2-1) on "Sunday Night Football?"

No, Coker won't be available tonight. Coker was listed among the Panthers' inactives.

On the season, Coker has 18 receptions for 222 yards and two touchdowns. In his career, Coker has 83 grabs for 1,094 yards and seven scores.

Coker's absence could help a struggling Lions secondary find its footing a bit in this prime-time matchup.

The Lions are surrendering a league-high 299.3 passing yards per game and Detroit's defense is ranked last in scoring defense (31.7 points per game) heading into Sunday night.
