After a tough Week 2 loss at the Buffalo Bills, Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff said he is eager to return home to face the New York Jets (1-1) on Sunday from Ford Field.
Although the Lions' defense struggled again during Detroit's in their 41-31 loss at Buffalo on Sept. 17, Goff had a fantastic game through the air, throwing for 327 yards and four touchdowns.
Still, Goff has heard some of the chatter about the Lions' collective start to the season.
"Iām excited to get back home and play in front of our fans for sure, but you love when the vultures start coming out. Guys' character really emerges, and I know our guys in this locker room, and you get to see those guys stand tall and be who they are, stay in the fire and take the shots and still
fight right through it. I say that, we're 1-1 and we lost the game by 10 points unfortunately, but we're in a great place. We feel great and excited to get back in front of our fans," Goff said earlier this week.

After a frustrating game at the Bills and after an extended break, being back home could be a lift for the Lions.
"After a long weekend, you can kind of hear a lot. I think your friends are texting you, your family is texting you. I'm not saying this is the case for me, but I understand how it works across the locker room. I think it's nice to get back in the building, get back in our bubble and go back to work," Goff said.
With the Jets in town, there is also a sense of a homecoming feel with former Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn visiting Ford Field for the first time as a head coach. Glenn was part of Dan Campbell's original coaching staff when he was hired in 2021 and still holds a great deal of respect within the Detroit organization.
The Lions and Jets kick off at 1 p.m. ET from Ford Field on Sunday, Sept. 27, with the game broadcast on FOX.
