After a disheartening Week 4 loss at Carolina, the Detroit Lions (3-2) bounced back into the win column with an emphatic 45-21 road win over the Arizona Cardinals (1-4) that not only had the offense thrive, but also saw the defense stand tall for large portions of the game.
Offensively, quarterback Jared Goff threw for 271 yards and three touchdowns on 19 of 30 passing. Goff also registered his first rushing touchdown since 2023 with a second-half sneak. Meanwhile, star running back Jahmyr Gibbs rushed 25 times for 151 yards and two touchdowns.
Although the absence of now-traded wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. surely limited the Cardinals' deep-threat ability, Kelvin Sheppard's defensive unit barked back at the criticism by putting on a stellar
performance. DJ Wonnum finished with two sacks and rookie cornerback Keith Abney II logged his first NFL interception. But, it was cornerback Roger McCreary's lockdown defense that stood out most on Sunday night.
As the Lions enter their Week 6 bye, here are some of the best social media reactions from fans and media to Detroit's much-needed victory:

With a touchdown today, Jahmyr Gibbs would leap into a tie with Lions Hall of Famer Barry Sanders for the most in NFL history before turning 25 years old (which won't happen until March). 😲
