After being waived by the Lions during Sunday's roster cuts, rookie linebacker Erick Hunter has been signed to the New England Patriots' 53-man roster.
Hunter was originally signed by the Lions as an undrafted free agent out of Morgan State on May 12.
At Morgan State, the 6-foot-2, 225-pounder saw action in 45 games with 39 starts, where he finished second in school history with 298 total tackles and also registered 10.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles, three interceptions and a fumble recovery.

The Lions are carrying Jack Campbell, Derrick Barnes, Malcolm Rodriguez, Devin White, Jimmy Rolder
and Trevor Nowaske on its 53-man roster and Joe Bachie and Amen Ogbongbemiga on its practice squad.
