As the 2026 regular season approaches, the Detroit Lions shared their new food options for the coming season.
According to CBS Detroit's Jack Springgate, the Lions intend to serve up a culinary history lesson of Detroit with its newest menu items.
"The outer elements of Detroit are full of different ethnicities, different backgrounds, different cuisines. We really wanted to bring that inside of the stadium this year... We are bringing in a lot of the different cultures and cuisines from the different neighborhoods within and surrounding Detroit and finding ways to bring it into stadium fare," said Ford Field executive chef Matthew Coleman.
Each dish reflects a different flavor of the Motor City's history, with every item named after the region
of the city where it originated. Dishes inclue the Greek Town loaded falafel tots, Dearborn loaded shawarma fries, Poletown mini kielbasa hoagie, Third & Porter potstickers and much more.
When it comes to new alcoholic beverage options, the Lions have certainly stepped up their game by offering drinks served in uniquely designed carrying vessels that match the team's energetic flair, such as a frozen leaping Lion-shaped container attached to a chain and a cup shaped like an old-school Gatorade jug.
Those drink options include Honolulu Blue Kool-Aid, a mixture of rum, Kool-Aid, and lemon juice, and the Ultimate Bloody Mary with deviled Eggs, chopped pickles, bacon, a choice of celery salt or Tajín and a sidecar of beer.
It's all part of the Lions' new Food Passport program, which allows fans to collect stamps when they buy food items at Ford Field that represent Detroit’s diverse culinary culture. There are eight Food Passport stamps to collect.
Once fans collect stamps, they can enter to win prizes:
- Redeem 3 stamps: Enter to win Lions Loot
- Redeem 6 stamps: Enter to win a signed Sam LaPorta football
- Complete the passport: Enter to win a signed Aidan Hutchinson jersey
All in all, it's safe to say that there will be no shortage of food and drink options at Ford Field this season as the Lions look to reclaim their spot atop the NFC North in pursuit of a Super Bowl championship.
